Desde mediados de S. XIX la comunidad danesa celebraba culto conjuntamente con los integrantes de la comunidad noruega en los templos de esta última.

En 1929 la comunidad danesa de Buenos Aires compra del lote en el cual edificará su iglesia. El 24 de marzo de 1930 se coloca la piedra fundamental y se inaugura el edificio el 10 de Mayo de 1931.

El proyecto fue presentado por los arquitectos Rönnow & Bisgaard y la realización estuvo a cargo de la empresa constructora Christiani & Nielsen. En su interior se destaca un pequeño barco colgado del techo que evoca la tradición marítima de este pueblo.
