Producto de la Primera Guerra Mundial, llegaron los primeros contingentes de la comunidad eslava a la Argentina.

Tras la idea de volver al culto en su idioma natal se reúnen el día 3 de marzo de 1926, en el hogar de la familia Jarabora. El día 5 de abril del mismo año, en el templo situado en la Av. San Martín 1773, se realiza la primera celebración.

En noviembre de 1927, invitados por el pastor Canclini, la comunidad pasó a congregarse en el templo de la calle Estados Unidos 1273. El 25 de diciembre de 1927, en la Plaza Británica, realizaron la primera reunión al aire libre en la cual se predicó en tres idiomas: ruso, ucraniano y polaco. En 1953 la comunidad compra el terreno de la calle Saavedra y se inaugura el templo en el año 1972.
